Mathew Needleman has taught the Open Court Reading Program for over a decade, working with populations of English Language Learners and mainstreamed special education students at Saturn Street School, a "low performing" school with steadily increasing test scores.
He now works as a literacy coach for Los Angeles Unified School District. He is a graduate of UCLA and a participant in the Teaching and Learning Collaborative Grant with Antioch University where he has taught a course in Educational Technology. He holds a Masters Degree in Educatonal Leadership and Policy and a California Administrative Credential.
He is the recipient of numerous Video in the Classroom Awards, and has been integrating video production in classrooms for twelve years. He also maintains an independent film career and several other web sites.
He does not work for Open Court/SRA McGraw-Hill nor is he the publisher of the Open Court Reading program.
